Extracts from Architects' Verbatum

  • All fabrics shall be inherently colour fast to light, and when tested in accordance with AS2001.4.21 shall have a colourfastness value of 7 or greater.
  • The head channel shall be capable of carrying the weight of all vertical louvres without visual distortion. The channel shall be designed to conceal all control cords, shafts, spacers and breaks etc.
  • When louvers are closed there shall be a 2mm gap at the non control end of the system and joins and spacing must be uniform and continuous.
  • Fixings/brackets shall be secured in position at the ends of the track and spaced at intermediate points sufficient to take the load, to avoid visual deflection and to ensure safety to the building components to which they are attached. There shall be reinforced support at ends where controls are located.
  • Tracks shall be mounted directly to ceilings or window head soffit or by bracket to walls as required by on site conditions.
  • To ensure ease of operation, the track shall be installed so that when louvre blades are rotated perpendicular to the track axis, the edge of the blade shall be positively spaced by approx. 15mm from the screened surface or any obstructions.
  • Each complete system of blades, tracks and operation mechanisms shall be fabricated in arrangements of stacking and control points, in the position, and to the measurements scheduled. Correct dimensions shall be taken from site.
  • The system shall be capable of imparting 170° to each louvre blade with precise synchronization and ease of operation.
  • The louvre blades shall hang on carriers held within the head channel. The carriers shall glide along within the track on rolling wheels, or other suitable mechanism, to ensure a smooth and consistent traversing of the blades.
